Rigorous research projects of the highest scientific standards have been conducted and published in leading international medical journals over the last few decades. In many controlled clinical trials homeopathic treatment has proven its effectiveness.

A number of reviews have evaluated the homeopathic research literature and positive outcomes of treatment with homeopathy were confirmed in many medical conditions relating to work stress such as

  • • Allergies

    • Seasonal allergic rhinitis

    • Sinusitis

    • Allergic skin reaction

    • Bronchitis

  • • Acute diarrhoea

    • Chronic fatigue syndrome

    • Influenza

    • Insomnia

    • Otitis media (acute)

  • • Premenstrual syndrome

    • Tonsillitis

    • Migraine headache

    • Depression

    • Hay Fever

Cost effectiveness and sick pay reduction

  • The available evidence suggests that homeopathy has the potential to generate savings through reduced conventional prescribing and demand for other services and therefore contributes to sustainable health systems by reducing direct, indirect and intangible healthcare costs.

Several studies showed that homeopathy is related to significantly less parental sick leave and absenteeism. Most studies also show a significant decrease in disease severity and therewith a sustainable increase in quality of life (QoL).

From a long-term perspective, homeopathic treatment is likely to show a reduction in lost revenue due to sickness as not only do a patient’s immediate complaints improve but his/her susceptibility to disease decreases due to a general improvement in health and thus less need for medical consultations.

Several observational studies suggest that patients who are treated with homeopathy use fewer medications, have better health, fewer sick days, fewer visits to medical specialists and less time in hospital than patients of conventional physicians. Moreover, there are no costs associated with complications due to adverse medication effects.

Productivity

  • Employees with chronic diseases commonly tend to continue to work at a lower productivity level.

Productivity losses differ between the levels of health risk experienced by the patient. 17 % of productivity reduction is seen in low risk patients while 34.5% productivity loss is seen in high-risk patients.

It can be argued that patients being treated with homeopathy belong to the first group as homeopathy has a curative health approach which reduces modifiable risk factors often causing or sustaining chronic diseases.

People’s health status improves with a better self-healing capacity and self-management initiating a new attitude and change in life habits resulting in a lower level of health risks.
